Where do I get the counter code?
During the final step when you sign up, we give you code for the counter. If you didn't copy it, just Login to your Amazing Counters Account and click the Get HTML Code link. You can choose between different versions of the code: standard, plain, XHTML and BB.
Why do I see code instead of a counter?
This happens when your web site design software thinks that the code is text content for your site instead of HTML code. You need to copy the counter code and paste it directly into the source code of your page. If you do not know how to do this, consult the help for your web site software to find out how to insert HTML code or how to edit the source code. If you are pasting the code into the source code and you want the counter on the very bottom of the page, paste it just before the </body> tag you should see near the end of the code.
Is the counter valid XHTML?
The standard version of the code is traditional HTML code and it is not XHTML compliant. To get a version of the code that will validate to the XHTML standard, Login to your Amazing Counters Account, click the Get HTML Code link, and select the XHTML version of our code.

Counter Installation Help for Netscape/Mozilla Composer and Nvu.
By default, Netscape Composer (as well as Mozilla Composer and Nvu) is set to include images and other files when publishing. If used, this option causes Netscape Composer to store a local copy of the counter image instead of referencing the counter image on our server. This causes the counter to fail by either showing a counter that is frozen at one value, showing an error message instead of a counter, or causing no image to be displayed. If this occurs you will need to copy the code to your page again replacing the counter code that Netscape has modified.
To avoid having this happen, remove the check next to "Include images and other files" on the Publish Page dialog box before clicking the Publish button. Alternatively, you can use an FTP program to publish your web site instead of using Netscape Composer. There are freeware FTP programs available at Download.com and other sources.
